Optimus Prime is the Supreme Commander of the Autobots.  Optimus Prime believes that freedom is the right of all sentient beings and unlike Megatron does not distinguish between organic and metallic life forms.

In the movie universe, Megatron is described as Optimus Prime’s brother – they are not siblings but both of them were members of a monastic order in which Megatron used to lead the Cybertronian peace keeping forces (later becoming the Decepticon army) and Optimus Prime was in command of all the rest of Cybertron.

Takara Tomy’s Optimus Prime from “Dark of the Moon” Review

There are many variations, sizes and versions of Optimus Prime from the latest Transformers Movie 3 “Dark of the Moon” but I like this version best.  It is the most realistic looking and therefore closer to the actual “Dark of the Moon” character.  I compared it with all the Optumus Prime’s released  under the “Dark of the Moon” label and some of them were extremely disappointing when you get face to robot with them.  In fact, compared to the previous two Transformers movie merchandise, in general, the standard of released actiion figures has declined and there is less movie accuracy overall.  This, of course, wont deter sales but is somewhat disappointing for die hard Transformer Collectors.

Where I found my DOTM actions figures…

Being a choosy Transformers fan, I spent a lot of time hoofing it around the various shops for the “Dark of the Moon”  action figures but ended up buying through Amazon simply because they have the biggest range on offer, many not available in the mall outlets,  with some great “Best Price” deals.  I got $30+ off this Optimus.  I also enjoyed not having to find parking spaces or elbowing my way through the shoppers and loved being able to take my time browsing through all that was on offer in the comfort of my own home.  Great way of shopping!

There is some other terrific Optimus Prime “Dark of the Moon” merchandise other than action figures available now which are sure to be hot favorites too.  Play costumes are going to be good value for creative play for children of all ages and , of course it will come out again at Halloween (providing your child hasn’t gone into a huge growth spurt – tip by it big enough with a little to spare!)  The bikes and skate boards will get good use during summer vacations too!

Review of Optimus Prime “Dark of the Moon” Version

You’ve got love him.  Optimus Prime retains his respendent red, blue and silver colors in the live action  Transformers Movie 3 “Dark of the Moon” and is out there saving the humans all over again.  It’s great to see that humans and robots can work together to overcome evil.  Optimus’ fights, battles and action scenes are generating creative play in young and old fans alike.

Many different versions of Optimus are being marketed to celebrate the movie.  Looking through them, and comparing them with the toy lines from previous movies, this film’s action figures are not as movie accurate or detailed as the previous films’ toy lines release.  This wont deter play value but it is disappointing for collectors who want sourvenirs of the Transformers 3. Ozone generation can be done with a neon sign transformer (NST). You must protect your transformer with a safety gap or you will end up with a dead transformer.
